What Does the Process Look Like?
1. Complete each step of the online application to complete the voucher process:
To be considered eligible for a California E-Bike voucher, which is up to $2000,
applicants must complete all the steps below. Collect the information needed to
complete the steps before the application window opens Dec. 18. When the window opens, click the “Apply Now” button to enter the information.
2. Receive your approval notification via email: Applicants who are approved will receive:
- Approval notification with approved incentive amount and voucher expiration date.
- Incentive voucher code
3. The voucher process requires that you find an approved California e-bike
retailer: Vouchers can only be redeemed from an approved retailer for new electric bicycles that the program has approved.

4. Decide which e-bike is right for you: Consider which electric bike will best fit your lifestyle and needs. ELV Motors, Inc. carries over 200 electric bicycles in the store to demo. Not all these ebikes are approved; however, test-riding the bikes will give you a better idea of the size and style of the bike you like. As part of the voucher process, participants must redeem the incentive voucher for an e-bike that meets all requirements listed in the e-bike eligibility checklist.
5. Complete online program education requirements: The voucher process requires applicants to complete the education requirements that are included in the application process prior to purchasing an e-bike.
6. Redeem your e-bike incentive voucher: Once approved, participants will redeem incentive vouchers with approved e-bike retailers. After purchase, retailers will submit the required documentation to receive reimbursement for the voucher discount issued at the time of sale. Program participants do not receive voucher funds directly.
